As part of an introductory broadcast class, I was able to take part in the weekly short broadcast called Newsbreak which updates news and information about Stony Brook University as well as national and international news. I was able to taste a bit of the broadcast world. And, even though I did not continue on the broadcast track, this opportunity led me to become the technical director for the weekly Stony Brook Newsbreak the following semester.
As the assistant technical director, I work with the producer to import graphics and videos which are then run through the switchboard. While we film, I have the heart-racing job of live switching the show. The control room is an exciting place to be and it has helped me develop television broadcast skills.
Below are videos I have technically directed.
